#Dupealert is a series highlighting our favorite beauty dupes at beautydupes.xyz (my side-hustle and passion project). These are products comparable in results but differ in prices and other features. We are giving you all the info, but you should go for whatever suits your preferences.
The Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Powder ($48) was revolutionary when it first came out. Who would thought a setting powder can set makeup and illuminate face at the same time using smart light reflections? There are a couple of brands that followed suits after Hourglass, the Laura Mercier
Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder ($39) is a close dupe (per its name) that gives a soft-focus subtle glow; the Flower Beauty (such an underrated brand) also has a light illusion powder ($13.99) that has great reviews.
How amazing that freckles were once thought as imperfections, and now are considered as ‘beauty marks’ and are so celebrated products are made for us to draw on faux freckles.
Freck beauty made its name by coming out with the freckle pen ($22). But since then, other freckle pens have came out that are, in customers’ words , no different than the original one but are cheaper. Such as the
Plant Makeup Freckle Paint ($17) and the Lime CrimeCocoa Freckle Pen ($18).
Please try supporting the original product if you can spare a couple more bucks though :)
Dior skin glow foundation ($52) was one of the few foundations that we’ve all used up at beautydupes.xyz. It’s hydrating without being oily, liquidy and light in texture — easy to apply, and wears well without becoming oxidized. If this is what you are looking for, here are some of the closest dupes:
- (drug store) MaybellineDream Radiant Liquid Foundation ($12.99)
- (cruelty-free) IT CosmeticsYour Skin But Better Foundation ($39.5)
- (black woman owned) UOMA Beauty Say What?! Foundation ($39)
This is one of the most searched products at beauty dupes. Our hypothesis is that it’s a great product that definitely lives up to its hype, but some probably don’t like its scent or are looking for more affordable alternatives because…gloss is one of those products you have to reapply frequently and gloss junkies cannot help but keep reapplying ( you with me?).
We found that Milani Ludicrous Lip Gloss in She’s All That ($7.99) is almost an exact dupe of the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow (the original color). Tower 28’s Jelly Lip Gloss ($19) is the most comfortable lip gloss we’ve tried that you would absolutely love if you love the Fenty one.
